Supreme is a unique coarse mix formula that encourages the natural instinct to forage, therefore, alleviating boredom. Q: Should I microwave the Supreme food to disinfect it from any possible mite infestations?

Q: Why do you use alfalfa in your formulas since I heard that it is bad for the animals?
A: Alfalfa is in no way bad for any animal which requires a high fiber diet. Alfalfa is a great source of fiber, protein, and calcium. Alfalfa, like many other ingredients, as a sole source of the diet would not be recommended, however fed in moderation as an ingredient in a balanced diet is fine and offers many nutritional and physiological benefits.

Q: You shouldn’t use Alfalfa since the calcium is too high and will be bad for the animal’s health.
A: Alfalfa does have a higher level of calcium than other forages such as Timothy hay but the Supreme diets contain a level of alfalfa suitable to provide the target animal with the correct nutritional balance.

Q: Are phosphorous levels within a diet important?
A: Phosphorous levels within a diet are a factor which is often overlooked. Phosphorus assists with the absorption and metabolism of calcium within an animal’s body, and any imbalance of these two minerals can lead to excessive calcium being excreted via the kidneys. Should the kidneys have excessive calcium passing through them; small deposits can often form crystals which over time gradually increase in size. The levels of these 2 essential minerals within the Supreme diets are balanced and will not cause any health issues for the animal.
